Hey all, been gone a while but I need a little help. I'll be up in the Eagle River area with a few hours to kill on Saturday in the middle of the day, and I need a lake to fish. I have a little 17' boat, and only about 3-4 hours at most. Looking for something small and easy to break down in just a few hours, but that isnt on the Eagle River chain (trying to stay out of the way of the PMTT guys). The weather looks like we might have some darker skies, so clearer water might be the trick, though I like to fish pretty shallow.

Any suggestions? Thinking something in the 300-500 acre (or less) variety. Big muskies would be great, but a good population of 'skies necessary....and thinking like 15-25 minutes from downtown Eagle River.

Thanks to all!

North Twin Lake and/or South Twin Lake. It is located NE of Eagle River. The maps are readily available. The winds are forcast to be slight. There a great variety of structure to fish, cabbage, reeds, rock reefs, wood, significant bottom structure variation. The lake has a consistant topwater bite.
Good Luck.

Try Pioneer just north of ER or Pickeral Lake on G. Both easy to fish.

You might want to stay off the ER chain lakes, big tourney going on this weekend, but it should free up the rest of the waters a bit. Good luck, m
