| im going for the first time at the end of this month and i was hoping for some lure help. honestly what do you bring ? to much and you start bait swapping . if you were to take 10 baits what would they be ?color and type .i already have some baits pulled but now im starting to second guess my choices. |

Location: South Portsmouth, KY | Hey. i went up to sabaskong bay lotw last year and we did pretty good. Here is what worked for us. Mepps Musky marabous(Nickle blade/ black tail, copper blade/red tail) and perch and jailbird colored mantas. Cant really give you any more bait info because thats all that i needed to use! | I'd take the following:
Large Tandem Rad Dog Spinnerbaits- Brown/Orange/Black Skirt with Flame Blade, Yellow Skirt with Nickel Blade, Black skirt with NickelBlade.
Topraider in almost any color.
Black Hawg Wobbler.
Eagletail Bucktails in Grey, Orange, Black or Brown.
A couple years ago up there we caught 21 Muskies in 28 hours on the lake. I think 19 were caught on dark colored Rad Dogs with a flame blade. Good luck. |

| My best bait is the Mepps Musky Marabou in the pearl white-black white. Trust me when I say you cannot go wrong by throwing this buck tail all day long! Second bait that is a must is a top raider (bull frog) Lock and load MF :o) just a few more weeks...giddy up!

| My top ten for LOTW
1. Top Raider. Don't matter the color, bring about 10. You need to put them within a foot of the rocks. Sometimes they hit the rocks, and the weight breaks loose. That's why you bring 10.
2. Black 9" Suick
3. Orange w/Black dots 10" Suick
4. GhostTail, Black hair, Chart/Orange Blade
5. Sucker 9" Reef Hawg
6. Raddog, White/Red. Cast this on the beach, and watch from the side. Ski's will come a long way for this bait!
7. Black and Chart Boo Tail
8. Herpes Undertaker
9. Black/ Silver Jointed Depth Raider
10. Pike 10" Believer
11. One more Top Raider, just in case you break the first 10!

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Mepps Marabous are an awesome bait up there. I have caught more LOTW muskies on these than any other bait.
Top Raiders are second in #'s of fish for me on the Woods, but first in size! Lots of big fish eating Top Raiders.
I always have a 10" UNweighted Suick rigged for working through the cabbage. One of the best slop baits out there, but must be UNweighted to back out of the slop.
Grinders and Rad Dogs and Ace Spinnerbaits have all been very good baits for me up there as well. |

| There was an article in Musky Hunter a couple of years back written by Bill Sandy with a number of his favorite lures for LOTW. Below is some of what he included.
Mepps Musky Marabou - Black and/or Black/white with silver
Reef Hawg - Sucker pattern
Top Raider - Black
Mepps Musky Killer Tandem - Black and/or Black/white with silver
Depth Raider - straight - perch
Hawg Wobbler - Black
Shallow Raider - Perch

| Well when you find them you catch them on just about everything! - use a bait that hooks well and is easy to 8 (lots of fish on 8's) For me end of June =Spinnerbaits ...small and large (take some white). Its such a versatile bait you really shouldn't need much else that time of year.....If you run into a nasty cold front I would bring some large husky jerks - these small baits have saved the day many times under horrible conditions |
