| I am going to find myself in Winnepeg for a week in late July with a small boat and a 3-year old. That pretty much eliminates the big lakes in the area. Anyone know of any smaller lakes worth some time? PM any advice if you prefer. Thanks |

| As far as my 3 Year old daughter will let me. In other words, not that far. 1 hour, give or take a couple minnows. |

| There is decent fishing right in the city in the Red River for channel cats, drum, sauger. A 1/2 hour north the fishing gets even better in the same river below the dam at Lockport. 20 lb. cats are common with LOTS of drum, saugers, goldeye, white bass as well.
Launch at "Cats on the Red" on the west shore just north of the dam. |

| Gatorguy, Thanks for the advice, but I fish Muskies. I predict I'll have one or two days to be alone and serious. I'll be sure to wet some lines for "whatever" in the river when I have my daughter along, that'd be a good idea. My bad for not being clear. Does the river have any tothy critters worth casting at? |
