The Wisconsin Muskie Tour (WMT) has scheduled a major qualifying muskie tournament for the western region on Rice Lake, to be held on Saturday, June 10. This will be the first for the WMT to host a tournament on Rice Lake and tournament officials are eagerly looking forward to the event. Rice Lake has been producing some big muskie catches and the word has been slowly trickling out to the muskie fishing community. We are confident that the competitors traveling to the tournament, and those anglers familiar with the lake, will have plenty of opportunities to do battle with great numbers of muskie and hopefully, some big ones too!
The WMT's Rice Lake tournament is a one-day event limited to 60 teams. A full field is anticipated but at press time, there are spots still available. The tournament is open to the public and cost only $300.00 per team. To obtain an application either call the WMT at (715) 369-1394, email [email protected] or log onto the WMT's web site (www.wmtseries.com) to print out an application. The registration and rules meeting will be held at the Adventure Restaurant & Pub at 2901 College Dr. from 5:00 - 7:30pm, with the rules meeting being held at 7:30pm.
The major sponsor of the WMT's Rice Lake tournament is Rice Lake Tourism Commission. The WMT and the Rice Lake Tourism Commission have been working together to put on a "world class" muskie tournament, and the competitors and spectators alike will not be disappointed.
The $5,000,000.00 WMT is a nineteen tournament circuit that host tournaments on some of the best muskie waters in the state of Wisconsin. Muskie anglers of all skill levels and all ages have enjoyed the competition and camaraderie that the WMT offers. This season, the tournament anglers will not only be competing to win and/or qualify for the Invitational Championship to be held on the Eagle River Chain on September 23-24th, but also to win a Ranger Boat that every competitor will be eligible to win. | |
