Location: Elkhart, IN | A couple weeks ago my son received a package from our musky fishing friend ToddM. The package included a Pig he'd made into a topwater for my son, plus some lures he'd handmade that he'd handmade and through in as a complete surprise. Among these really nice handmade lures were two inline buzzbaits. Neither of us had anything like these, and Nick offered to let me have one. Fast forward to monday morning, nothing seems to be happening, so I decide to play with the buzzbait for a bit. On about the third cast I notice there's some waves behind the buzzbait that shouldn't be there. I call attention to my sons (the oldest of which had just flown in saturday night after serving a tour in Iraq, and had never seen a musky in person before sunday night) and Nick gets all excited saying I've got one up. I execute a perfect figure8 and make it through the first half turn and the water explodes. After a nice close quarters battle we've got in the net my second biggest musky to date!! What a rush, man I love muskies. Also a big thank you to Todd for his generousity with the lures and also all the helpful tips he's given me over the last couple years. Thanks man
