Location: nationwide | What will be your first lure thrown on opening day of the "northern" musky season???????
For me I think it will be one of the two little jerks attached . . .. with hooks of course.

| I have tossed the new X-Rap SXR14 around a little and I think it will be a killer lure for the WI muskie opener. |

Location: Wausau | If the weather report is correct - the opener should be "HOT"!
I"ll start with a In-Line Llungen and/or Chatterbait...thrown in with some Shallow Dawgs, Cranes and TopRaider or Weagle. |

Location: Munster, IN | I'll be tossing my very own EZ-E Glider.
Either PH Cisco or FT Perch pattern, not sure yet.
Starting shallow with the unweighted model and then will most likely go deeper with the weighted version.
Plan on doing some open water trolling with 9" Grandmas too.

Location: Greenfield, WI | I will be throwing the same bait that worked for me on the southern Wisconsin muskie opener this year, a 6" Slammer crankbait in the Red Dragon, the secret of the orient color. |

| I'll be throwing a Perch flavored Perkette.
Small CJ's in some spots.
6" Hugheys and Shakers
And the nameless lure that I made that is the shape of a bluegill in chrome or some other effect, depending on light conditions.
I'll also have a #5 Mepps, black with a hot orange blade on one rod at all times. The perfect throwback bait for me this time of year. Also the lure that I use when I go back after followers.
I'll also have my jig rod ready to go. Many an opening weekend has been saved by the jig. It has also put quite a few fish in the skillet as a bonus.
Whatever, all 8 will be loaded and ready to go. Now all I have to do is wait for Dad to call me up and tell me to come up.
I'll take you to Lake X again and the lake next to it.
Nice having the option. One lake shallow and loaded with milfoil and cabbage, while it's neighbor is over 100 feet deep with gin-clear water and nothing but rocks. Always some bonus smallies pounding what ever you are throwing. There is always something happening on one of the lakes regardless of temps.
