Does anyone know the water temps on any of the WI/MI lakes - or any lake in Vilas Co? Thanks in advance for your time.

About the same here in St. Germain area. Most lakes holding in low 50's range.

I was on Crab lake in Vilas County for the opener and saw a lot of scarred up muskies in the shallow river that connects Crab to North Crab. That tells me that those muskies had already spawned. That was almost 2 weeks ago now. So to answer your question I thnik they will be done spawning in Vilas Co.

The report I got was about 53ยบ on average on the Cisco Chain. About the same on Tenderfoot.

I think the fish spawned several weeks ago when the water temps were in the 60's. Even though the water temps have cooled off, I believe that the fish are out of the spawn mode and have moved on to the feeding mode! I think the opener will be pretty good.

Air temps here are currently 45 degrees with howling NW winds, so take a few degrees off any reports from yesterday. Brrr.

PI area back down to 50 degrees on smaller stained lakes.
