Been hitting the river off on on for a couple weeks now. Last Saturday the pike started to hit kind of lazy and just nipped at lures.Wed. the water temp was 58 1/2.
haven't even had any follows from musky. Yesterday, water temp was exactly 60 and I had a nice girlfollow in and miss the ure. Couple casts later she came at it again and nipped it than I couldn't raise her again. So swicthed over to a medium sized bucktail and after about five cast, she took it. Got my first slime for the Season from a nice healthy looking 38 incher. Raised another but couldn't get her to hit She was about the same size.
I hadn't had any action until the river hit 60 degrees.
Was by myself so the pictures were taken of her in the water.
What is the best temp to get action right now coming into Spring and from the spond?
Otherwise, I had a great day and left the river a happy puppy.

Temp has some to do with it as far as post spawn, turnover, ect at those times they can dictate when there is action. Water conditions are huge too. Good oxygen, healthy weeds and everything els that can keep fish active through the summer is a plus. Give me a good mild summer with little algae bloom and there is no dead time to fish.
