Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | I saw someone had made a comment in the Buy/Sell Section about finding some of the prices these new lures are going for. I must say I agree. 100$ for a fishing lure? Am I the only one who thinks that is the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard of in your life? I am by no means cheap, and no offense at all to anyone who goes that route...I was just wondering why some would even think that is necessary? |

| Filled up your propane tank, paid your natural gas bill or filled both your truck tanks or heating oil tank of late???? Paid your own health insurance premium lately??? Now thats ridiculous |

Location: Chicago | I would say it has nothing to do with insecurities. He was just asking a question and giving his opinion. The bottom line is inexpensive lures probably catch more fish than boutique lures due to the sheer numbers. I would never spend $$ on a wishmaster, however I would not call dadson, t hulbert, the kid perc from iowa, etc.. fools or morons for spending their money on said baits. Good for them. I hope they hook into moby dick. Its great we are able to choose.

| Brian...it's the same w/ boats..lodges..guides...reels..
you can catch 200 muskies in a $500 boat with no motor...or you can catch muskies in a 2006 Ranger 621 with 2 motors...$40k plus..
you can catch fish with a used abu you buy for $10..or with a $400 calcutta.
it's nice we all have choices.
So, just speculating..i think most people believe it's NOT ridiculous to spend $100 on one lure. all baits are different.. if the market bears a WishMaster knock off for $10..i'd buy one.. but they ain't out there...
think about Tools..there are some expensive tools that are pretty specialized..just like lures.
GOOD LUCK BRIAN THIS YEAR.. may 2006 bring you one over 56" !!!!

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | A 621 with two motors is 50K plus these days. I buy what I like, some expensive, some not so. If I like the product, I get one. |

| some times you have to go through ten-$15 lures of the same brand to find "one ' good" one that works right..thats $150,,,, |

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | I didn't mean any disrepect, sorry if I came off that way. I guess I was just looking for why these lures are so much better other then a nice fancy looking paint job. And yes, when you are a college student I guess buying a 100$ lure is a little unrealistic. |

| I was talking to an individual who writes articles for one of the Muskie magazines. I asked him if he had tried the Wishmaster, and he said he had not, but not due to the price. He mentioned how those lures will reach further down in the water column than about anything else out there, but also stated that this was the problem, because when you bring fish up from so far down, a lot of them don't get back down. He was of course refering to the air bladder of the fish expanding or contracting or whatever, too fast, and thought that catching fish from that depth would be responsible for killing quite a few of them.
I'm no fisheries biologist, but it made sense to me at the time. I'll never own that particular lure, because I'd rather cast, but it does seem ridiculous to have that kind of price on it. I give away most of the lures I make, simply because I think it's cool that someone can catch fish with them. That is enough satisfaction for me. |

Location: Chicago, IL | ill look at it like this: i spend the money on what i think is the best i can get when i have the funds. i am too a college student. most of my fishing equipment, more specifically rods/reels, comes from b-days and christmas presents. i just spent a little under a 100 bucks yesteday on 12 lures, but i got them all 50% off. if i catch one muskie one of those 12 then hey its 100 bucks for a muskie (kind of). if i bought one $100 lure that caught me a muskie then its about equal. if u buy it and use the hell outta it, then even the most expensive things seem cheap. |

Location: The desert | I am like muskiemook, I get a lot of my stuff as birthday and christmas gifts. But if I want something I know no one will buy for me I will save up for it, no matter what the price. I got a few of the snax baits for christmas, I paid for a part of them because I wanted the baits. Price doesnt matter much to me, if it is what I enjoy to do then no amount of money is going to stop me from doing it. Money comes and goes, memories from fishing dont.

Quality comes at a price. Lures cranked out in numbers will have good one and bad one. Someone said it already. Buy 10 for $10.00 and find one real good one. Thats $100.
I don't own one but if I fished out East I would have a few of them.
Lures, boats and other equipment are tools.
I have a Ranger620 with 2 motors, quality equipment and I pay the price for quality. My job as a guide and the sucess depends on it. Repeat buisness and word of mouth comes from a quality time with the correct tools to consistantly catch fish.
You get what you pay for !!!
$100.00---Ouch, but if it works, hell ya, give me a few of them. |

| Brian,
I'm currently a college student... haha
I think the action of a Wishmaster is the best I have seen and is very unique. Granted, if someone could duplicate what Rolf has done for a fraction of the cost, I would certainly be interested!! Wishmasters payed big dividends for me last season and thus I have quite a soft spot for them. However, as much as I love running them and baits like Parrywinkles, I've done exceptionally well on Super Shad Raps and Bomber Long A's... |

| If it works I'll buy it. Had a price hangup with creepensteins until I got one. Now I want about 5 of those darn things. Pointer was along with me on a night when I put a little dent in my wallet but the stuff I picked up is tried and true. I just need to grow more arms so I can put all of the reels I bought to good use.

Location: Lake Country, Wisconsin | Dadson...I guess that was what I was looking for, An answer to what seperates these baits from others. I will take your word on it! If indeed these work this well, maybe I wil be dropping 100$ myself. All I was trying to say I guess is that when something new comes out and is "overpriced" I am always a little skeptical because I have seen many an overhyped product come out where the quality didn't fit the price. |
