Who's on a mission this year for a personal best?

If you are, what's the plan, the destination, and what's the target size?

The Wabigoon trip IS the second week July...

I've had hooks into two fish that were obvious 50 inchers, but could not manage to get them to the boat, so that is still my #1 goal. My personal best is a 47" fish from Minaki last year. I'd like to either catch a 50" on Mille Lacs, as I'll be there this year for the Muskies Inc. Chapter Challunge, or from Detroit Lake or Pelican Lake which are spitting out a lot of big fish lately. Both of those lakes produced 55" fish last year. I hate trolling, but bought a Believer to try out. I also bought a pretty big Marabou/Willow Blade Bucktail in Walleye pattern, as Bucktails have accounted for two 55" fish on Pelican over the past two years.

It seems to me that unless you break the 50" barrier, your credibility and skill level are questioned. That's a shame, I think, but it is what it is.

Wish me luck guys.

I've been at this now since 1980 and have yet to break 45 on my home waters. The fish are there, I have seen them and had them follow, but no takers yet.

That elusive 50 is getting closer every cast I make...just a matter of gettin her to bite. Different waters, bigger waters, and 2 LOTW trips will hopefully tilt the scale my way.

With my full time job getting questionable and my guide buisness going better that I ever could have thought. I only hope to keep putting trophy fish in my clients hands. Two 50+ inchers in each of the last two years on Pewaukee is all I could ask for.

I just hope to do the same or better for my clients and buisness.

My personal best is not possible to beat in the waters I have to fish now.

My only shot will be my only vacation. Third week in July on Milli Lacs is my only shot this season.

Going to Eagle (Osbourne Bay) for the first time...6 days

Minnetonka for 2 days.

Those look like my only shots at PB....stuck in Southern Wisconsin rest of the year. Looking for a fat 50...skinny fish need not apply.

The one goal I want to achieve this season is to have my wife boat her first musky ever. She tried hard a few times last season and had some hot follows, but this year I want her to get hooked up. We have one big trip planned this summer together, and that is to Vermillion. Other then that, we will be hitting some close to home waters hard this year for her pursuit at boating the "first".

It is the year of the repo fish for me. Target...a high 30 to 40 pounder.

10+ days in Canada and a bunch of time on The Pond...hopefully that's enough to get it done

my mission is another 50+. its been a while.
i move them every year , get friends and clients great strikes but for some reason , i have not had them take a whack at what i'm throwing.
when she does, it will go in the net.
my guess is vermilion in august but ill get a run in june and july up there too.

in my home area waters here in NE Wiscoonsin i have some lakes with 50+ers and hopefully hard work and confidence will pay off.

good luck to all this weekend heading south like us.

Caught a 44 incher on Lake Redstone last year. Would like to catch at least a 45 this year on Redstone or some other southern Wisconsin lake. Cast til your arm falls off!

My first will be my personal best. I wouldn't mind catching a 50+ with Mike on Pewaukee. I've got four chances lined up for that before June 6th. I'm not greedy though, any size early in the year would be just dandy. One over 45" on Eagle at AML at the end of August, and I will feel the plan was justified.

Kevin

Planning on seeing the water soon.

My PB is a 45 out of pewaukee, my first fish... So my PB isn't a size, i just would like to put more fish in the boat this year for the experience. But a 46" would be nice!!!

My mission....30 muskies in the boat this year. It would be nice to get my Dad his first muskie, but I think I want it more than he does!!!! Okay, my goal is in writing, that's the first step. Second step is to accomplishing it.

My goal for this year is to learn the waters closest to where I live. None of them really have trophy potential, but with gas at $3.00, driving 6 hours to fish for a day or even a weekend is just too expensive. I'd rather fish more hours on lesser waters. My size goal for this year is 48". Not planning on having a legitimate shot at it any time other than the week on Eagle. All the rest of the time I'll be fishing in Southern WI and IL.

My mission, should I decide to accept, is to get one in the net on the opener this year. If I do, it will be the first on an opener in three years.

My PB is 47 1/2, and done that 3 times. I'd like to break the 4 foot mark this year, and I'd like to do it at the Green Bay Tourney in October!

My 2006 Mission is to kick butt at Larry Jones' Lake Chautauqua, NY Prendergast Hatchery Baitfish Fund Tournament in October!!! SO VERY MANY MUSKIES SWIMMIN' IN THOSE WATERS where North America's oldest muskie hatchery program resides!! After a combined 75 years of local water knowledge, the good Cleveland Dr. Crum and I plan to be there on top when Buffalo's own Captain Larry passes out those sparkling trophies...... WE KNOW WHERE THEY HIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

world or state record that i quietly return to the river, but get video and pics of. everything else is bonus!!!

seriously, my goal is to put muskies on film and in the hands of few people that haven't caught them yet.

my mom especially this year, i REALLY want to net her first 'ski for her and get pics.

could care less if i ever catch another one, but of course, i'll be out there A.M.A.P.!!!!

Throw a F.I.T.

two years in a row now I've hit a PB with back to back 49's on opening day, the first was 35lbs and the second I think a pound heavier, same place by about a 100yds apart, same time give or take an hour, same conditions. Soooooo, I think opening day I will be back to that area, pending conditions of course, and hopefully, one of those fish is in the 50 caliber range, hopefully!

There's a fish I totally f()&ed up in Rhinelander area , she had to be 48 or better , a little redemption would not suck !! I'd love to put my wife and son on their first ever , that would cap it all !! She let me buy the boat , I owe her at least 1 right ?? She's caught alot of nice fish off-shore ( still haven't matched her king salmon , but my sailfish/tarpon/wahoo/etc.. take the lead ) but she's never experienced the thrill of the beast !!! Plan on having ALOT of ( safe !!! ) fun on the water this year with ALOT of fish in the boat !!
