Has anyone ever been to this area? How is the muskie fishing, etc.? Thinking about taking a trip there this summer and any info that will help me decide is appreciated.

I was there back in 83 for a few days. Some great pike fishing, and outstanding walleye fishing. They call it a river, but it seemed to be a big long lake with a zillion islands! There is a current that flows, though. I heard it has a fishable population of muskies. I would like to go back some day.

There was an Indian guide we took out with us one day. I believe his name was Archie Stevens. Knew the system like the back of his hand. We had a Lowrance flasher, and he had never seen one before. By the end of the day, he was looking at it constantly. He was related to the guy who ran the bait shop in Sturgeon Falls? Cost us $20, and 2 soda's for the day!
