Looking for any Motorguide dealers you know of in WI or Twin Cities area that stock Motorguide trolling motors. I want to take a first hand look at one of the DS series.

Thanks in advance.

i saw some at the Cabela's down in Prairie du Chien a couple weeks ago.
might want to give a call to the one in the Cities to see if they've got one on hand to look at.

Thanks dude.... Next Tues. I will be passing through that area for work traveling from IA to Madison. This could be an expensive stop...

you may still want to call them beforehand - they had a number of different styles of Motorguides, but i didn't look closely to see if the DS was on display or not.

The Motor Clinic in Bloomington 952-8841-0898. Better buy it from them because they are the ones that will have to fix it when it breaks;) They really know these and will be a great help.

Planned on stopping at Cabela's anyway...:)

Will check out the motor clinic in Bloomington.

From the reports I've heard, the DS seems to be reliable. I am not interested in the model with the "bottom follow" capabilities, just a basic digital steer motor on a scissors style mount. If Minn Kota offered their PD/AP on a scissors mount I would buy it and put up with the fact that I hate their pedal system.

I am going to mount both Maxxum and Motorguide DS to Minn Kota's sliding mount and then I can have whichever motor I want on the boat. I want units with scisssors style mounts so they can be lifted easily, even by the person on the front deck with one hand while playing fish if needed. Secondly I want to be able to control the unit from the rear of the boat so in situations where clients/guests are on the front deck, I can control the unit from the rear deck. Seems the only way I am going to get what I want is to have two units on slide mounts.

Bottom line... I love my Maxxum's, but it doesn't suit me in all situations so I'm trying to come up with a system for all situations.

Sure wish Minn Kota wouldn't have quit making the Genesis...
