Location: Black Creek, WI | Had another fun weekend in Three Lakes. Team Piggy/Long successfully defended the title at the 15th Annual Esox Classic. Although I caught 2 fish on LongTales, my partner, Piggy, boated 4 on Mepps Marabous. We split the $$$$ with the Big Fish... which taped 47.5 inches and set the new Big Fish record for the event. Another team also boated 4 legals.... which would have been a new record had Piggy and I not boated 5 to beat them.

Location: Black Creek, WI | No babysitter last night... so my wife went to Country USA and I took the boys fishin'. Just picked up a new ABU Record and 8' Premier that I wanted to break in.... and Jodi tied me up a custom color Big Shot for the 6000 acre pond as well.... and it only took 15 minutes to score! The boys helped me hand land a 38 incher. What a hoot.... and the new rod, reel, and lure have passed the test.
Action last night probably had nothing to do with the lure.... as there was definitely a window happening as the weather changed. Had 4 others up in that first hour and boated a dozen or so pike. Then the lake went dead.... and got even more dead as the sun went down (typical for that stupid lake).
I'm having a lot of fun with Long Tale Tackle and proving that the self-fulfilling prophecy still prevails..... |

I wonder which one of Danny's LongTales helped the Wojtusik Brothers cash an $18,000 1st place check at the Eagle River PMTT this past weekend? Those boys can probably catch fish on a bare hook.... but hey... they chose to give a Long Tale some playing time.... so I'll enjoy the free press while I can (heh heh).
CONGRATULATIONS Mike and Dan!!!! Consistent success. You oughta be proud!

In reality, I just don't have the time to fish tourneys the way I'd like to... so I choose to fish when I can and where I want to.... or with my family. I'm fishing a couple tourneys this year... but because they are held on lakes I want to fish (Vermilion) and lakes I'll be fishing anyway (Three Lakes).
And.... if you think I have a lucky horseshoe.... you should meet my DAD!!!! Heh heh heh. |

| Not that I would want to contribute to a shameless promotion, but let me tell ya.
I've fished spinnerbaits for almost 36 years and these babys are vastly different from what I've used before.
Now, Long told me they don't work under these circumstances, those circumstances and I find them to work better than the other spinnerbait tools I've used before, under these and those circumstances.
Meaning, it's not so much the lure, but the fisherman and how he/she can present the lure.
But, in this instance, I will make an exception to that statement.
These spinnerbaits do make a difference and if you all know the likes of meses, I'm not his buddy nor back pocket material.
But, I don't have a rod in the boat with atleast one of these baby's tied on.
Their that good...

Irridescent paint is cool on crankbaits... and this stuff let's you put it on a spinnerbait too!
Fenner may like these baits cause they catch fish, are extremely versatile, and push the envelope for spinnerbait performance.... but I like 'em cause they are PRETTY.

Shoot me an email. I have a suggestion for your website and what program you might buy to help build your website out. I used the program from GoDaddy and liked it but found one with mor functionality and it runs like Microsoft PowerPoint. You can also publish from it into the GoDaddy servers very easily.

Location: Black Creek, WI | Thanks for the input Dave J. I want the lure to look "skinny" to provide a long, slender profile versus the traditional bulky "panfish" profile provided by most traditional spinnerbaits. There are lots of other reasons behind the profile as well. For example.... the slender profile has less drag which caters to a high speed retrieve. LongTales are the FASTEST spinnerbaits I've ever fished... and that makes them unique.... in my opinion... and something most people don't consider from a spinnerbait.
CJ's are very fine quality spinnerbaits and have a great reputation. If you want a CJ's... then buy a CJ's. But... in my opinion... you will be missing out on an entirely new spinnerbait opportunity by not trying out a Long Tale. |

The lures this fellow (he's used several names today in separate posts) say are 'the best' look to be nice. The arm is too long for my taste, and the blade style different than I'd choose, but they look to be well built. Thing is, they are made and sold in Canada ( big surprise, that's where our buddy above resides) and not readily available here.
I bet the folks who live up there are unfamiliar with Long Tails, too. |
|

| many fishermans from the us use the river rat because they caught a ton of 50+ each years,so they are available.for the longtale availablility i seriously dont care, because thats the shape we like arm included, and especialy the eye

How can you say my LongTales are not unique without ever trying one out for yourself?
I love the River Rat spinnerbaits and know first hand how good of a bait they are. In fact, I give them some recognition on our LongTale website. Also, check out the 48 incher I caught on a River Rat spinnerbait... my photo is on the River Rat website.... proving that I respect and take advantage of that fine product too. The LongTale DoubleShot is very similar to the River Rat..... so I admit that design is not completely unique.
http://www.riverratlures.com/17501.html
The short-arm LongTale designs are very similar to Dick Pearson's Grinder... but different enough in my opinion. Different hooks. Different blade options. Different head designs. Different body materials. Etc. |

EA... for the record.... I only caught 2 fish on LongTales on opening day. There are two photos of the same fish above. However, I did have the honor of netting a fish for my buddy Todd Forcier to make our opening day total of 3 fish. His fish, by the way, ate a bucktail and NOT a LongTale.
And lastly, I wasn't trying to PROVE anything by posting the pictures. I love to catch muskies... big or small.... and after 5 months of a closed season... it simply felt GREAT to catch a few muskies... regardless of their size.
Yah... I hope to give my lures some exposure from this post.... but its certainly not a contest. I"m not sure why some people are so competitive... or jeolous... or whatever prompts them to post so negatively. I caught a few fish on some of my own baits and shared the photos online. Nothing more than that. Hopefully I can catch a few more fish like this 49 incher that ate a LongTale.... but I'm still going to enjoy each and every fish I catch.... regardless of size.

Good for you - I own a dozen of your baits and have bought a handful for my dad and friends - they are super. Those are, bar-none, the absolute best pictures on any fishing website anywhere. I can't wait for my little dood to actually sit in the boat and fish. It's bad enough that he screams and yells when Dad(me) goes fishing without him already, makes me feel guilty. I have taken him a couple of times, and he will sit patiently for about five, six hours.
On another note, I'm going to have to order four or five of those in a few minutes :P |
