| Does anyone know of a lake or river system close to the Minnesota border that will be open for the WI south of 10 opener? I have done some research but have had a difficult time finding anything under 2-3 hours from the twin cities. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to PM me if you don't want to post the information.
Thanks,

You pretty much need to get to the central part of the state for the closest water South of 10. Petenwell, Redstone, etc. And yes, that puts you 2-3 hours from home... |

Location: S.W. WI | as two Old Timers said to me, while leaving the public meeting regarding stocking lake Neshonic with Muskies; "next they'll wanna put Pirhana in our lake". Gonna be a tough sell.

| one lake I go to once in a while is Potters flowage about 15 miles east of Black River Falls. Dark water, very stumpy though, sloooow motoring is a must. Wi. DNR website has a lake map for it. I have caught muskies up to 40 inches out of there and lost a couple of mid 40's over the years. Lake Arbutus has some muskies in it but I have not done very well there. |

Location: Anchorage | Maybe I shouldn't divulge, but I'll be on the underappreciated Chippewa, just south of Durand. If the water stays real high it might be a little tough, but the fish are there and it can get quite lonely on the river. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
