OK, I'm new to fish stocking so, please bear with me on this one....just got a picture from one of our hatcheries that did stocking today...these two didn't survive the trip down the hose....

Anyway....just from looking at the picture of these two fingerlings - what can one tell about these fish? Relative health (other than being dead...), condition, strain, etc.? Anything?

Thanks,

Brian Sanger

The 15 inch one looks like the only musky I have caught.

Thanks, Mike.

Right now, we get the bulk of our fish from Iowa...still trying to find out what strain they are....

If they are from Iowa, they have to be Wi. strain. I don't know if that is good or bad. There have been some big fish caught in the Iowa Great Lakes.

There is a place in Mn that has fish you can buy. I believe they are Leech Lake Strain. If you search on this site you will find the thread.

Kinda gotta agree w/ big gun on this one.
I have no idea what their genetic heritage is, but they sure are beautifully marked. It wouldn't matter to me if someone wanted to call them Chilean Flamingos if they looked that nice. Let me know when they're hitting 35-40 inches Brian!
That bottom one looks to be in particularly good body condition, and other than being dead, quite healthy! hahaha
