| Hey just before I start this topic just would like to say hello to everyone on the forum. Im just wondering if any you guys actually bait fish for Muskies as I fish for Pike in Scotland and the majority of our big fish come from bait fishing even though I do a lot of lure fishing lol Big pike are hit on lures but all our record fish have came off on baits, just would like to see your views on this?
Cheers

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | There is a very dedicated live bait crowd fishing Muskies, but that mostly in the late season just before ice up. Suckers, up to 20" or bigger, are used on a quick strike rig. Welcome to MuskieFIRST! |

Spring time suckers are 9 to 14-inchers and Fall suckers are 12-inches up to 20 something.
Suckers are a big part of my arsonal when the water temps are under 55 degrees. |

Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | It should be pointed out that suckers are a bottom feeding fish with soft prehensile lips that vaccum their food which includes the eggs of other fish. They generally run from 12 to 23" in length as an adult and although generally not seen on restauant menus in the states are actually good tasting when baked or smoked. |

Location: Brookfield, WI | Suckers are also known as lollipops here in the States. One of my favorites is the Tootsie Pop. It has a little Tootsie Roll in the middle. That Tootsie Roll is good. It's like a little chocolate award for working hard and being patient with your sucker.

A little candy sweetens the plan. |

Walleyes, perch, salmon, trout are always ready to come out of my freezer. Smoking suckers is way to hard, I can never get them to stay lit..........LOL |
