| i need two for my new boat. which ones do you guys recommend? seems most of them are ass pains to get the rod out of the holder when you get a strike. dont want permanent ones as i do not do alot of trolling. |

| I will second the Down East, used the double clamp model for years super strong and no chance of loosing A rod.

| Not sure how good these work, but I've heard a lot of people say that Scotty's Rod Holders are really good. Maybe someone else can comment on these for ya.

The down east salty is the way to go, you can clamp them on your boat anywhere you want and take them off when your done for the day (recomend the double clamp style). Stongest rod holder on the market, just lift straight up on your rod to release, and your fighting the fish.
