| Who can tell me how I can tell the difference between a Odyssey Phantom and a Todd Cleveland Phantom? I think I know who is who but I want to be sure...if possible.
This also counts for the Viper. I have those with 3d eyes but also with the white "walleye" eyes. What is the difference?
Thanks guys!

Location: Norway | I can, I think. I have both.
The Todd Cleveland is rounder in the edges, and have 3 hooks, at least mine have (the big one). I put them on a scale and it differs 20grams aswell (0.7oz)
On mine the Odyssey one have 2 turns in the splitring and the Todd Cleveland has 3.
And also the coating on the Odyssey ones is more uneven.

Heres a pic. The Walleye is Odyssey and the other is Todd C.

| Hey Mike,
Thanks man! Really appreciate it! You got me a long way in the right direction
I think (sure) I have both to but still its hard to tell who is who. Is it also a fact that the eyes of the phantoms from Todd are different?
Perhaps I should make a picture of my phantoms so we can do a little contest haha
If there are any other good suggestions let me know please!
Also about the difference (if there is any) concerning those vipers. Why different eyes...does this mean different builders? |

Location: Norway | Hm I now looked at some pics that a friend sent me, of odysseys phantoms, and they have the 3 turn splitrings...
But from other sources Ive heard that the roundness is a telltale. Kinda figures, its more handcraft in Todd C's..
The same sources said that they had the same quality in movements, that will i know when the #*^@ SPRING decides to visit Norway.

Location: Mpls, MN | Interesting topic. When I look for used phantoms I always wonder if they are Todd's or Od.
Far as eyes. I have three vipers. The fire tiger I got from Todd at out manufature night last year and won the perchy looking one that night. The black one I picked up at Thorne Brothers earlier that year. Doubt that carried any Od ones last year. But the eyes are different on both. All seem to work fine but then again I suck at working them so who knows!
The top and the third in this photo are 7.5" Phantoms and I bought them from Thornes last year. The middle one was painted and signed by Todd for our tournament. The bottom one I am not sure since I bought it on ebay 3 years ago. I don't know.

| I believe the Todd Cleveland lures are logo'ed on the packaging as "Phantom Lures", whereas the Odyssey lures logo says "Phantom Jerkbait" on it.

| Well..this way we are getting somewhere but still.....it seems I am not the only one having a MEGA hard time telling which is which.
Does anyone want to try and tell me if they know, when looking at the picture of my phantoms, who is who? I just want to see if I am on the right track.
PS keep posting your info about these lures...please do...I want it to be out in the open for once and for all |

Location: In the slop! | I could be wrong about this, (it has happened before) but I am pretty sure Todd always made the Phantoms. Even when they were in Odyssey packaging. 'I' wouldn't worry about it, just fish. Todd is a great guy, if you have a problem, contact him. I am pretty sure he will make it right. He told me a story at a show one time, guy brings him a viper, finish is screwed up. Then tells Todd it's caught 'x' amount of fish over 48", that bait went in his tackelbox. If your still not convinced, email him. I don't have it handy, but I am sure Happy Hooker or one of the other Twin cities guys could hook you up. |

| I spoke with Todd about the thread. He said he would have to see a picture of the baits to tell the difference.
If you got the lure in a store it was packaged with a picture of Wayne Klemz on the front.
Hope that helps.

| Thanks Keith,
Really appreciate it! The picture (look at the link in one off my previous quotes) is a pretty clear one...I guess!
I got all these second hand so no package material with them. So.....if you see Todd again (someday) perhaps you can show him the picture and he can tell me/us who is who!
Perhaps he can also give us clues what to look for to tell the difference.....
