Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | Howdy all, hope everyone is chomping at the bit for the upcoming league season!! I will be getting all of the league info from Cal tomorrow and I will personally be checking on the jackets as Cal informed me that they were not done yet. I am looking for ideas and or changes that can be brought up at our first meeting. Personally I would like to see the season stretched to twelve weeks starting on the 30th of May and winding up on the 22nd of August and would include a fun nite on the 4th of July which falls on a tuesday. Stretching the season would require adding an xtra set of lakes or even adding two different lakes to fill those dates. Ideas?? Of course all will be brought up at the meeting but it can't hurt to get the ball rolling early and many of our league members visit this site, so what are some ideas that you have????? Dave Jonesi |

Location: Rhinelander, WI | Hey Dave, I can't wait for the season to start. One thing I would like to see either at the first orginazation or second is a lure swap. I think it would maybe draw more people as well.
Let me know if you need any help.

Location: Clintonville, WI | How far south, jacorn? I'm planning on making the drive one more year for sure - from Clintonville. If you are anywhere close to Hwy 45 between here and Hwy 8, I'll pick you up if you get on a team or sub.
Medic, I'll keep you in mind as a sub.....my guess is with work going as it is, I may need a sub a couple times given the length of my drive.
Dave, I'd like to propose that every week my team gets a fish, I receive a "Get Out of Work Free the Next Day" card so I don't have to drive back those nights!! That would have to include free lodging at Stellflue's house so I can drink all his beer and stink up his place versus the home of a good guy.
Seriously though, I have no objection to 12 weeks. Also, lure swaps are cool anytime.
What about an end of the league extra week sometime, where the top 3-5 teams of the Rhinelander League go up against the top 3-5 teams of Eagle River League? Do a home and away type series by alternating the territory fished every other year or do neutral water if possible? I'd like us to try hand them some crow (in a good natured kind of way, of course ). I believe we've got the biggest league fish of all time on our record books..... |

Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | A lure swap is a GREAT idea!! I will be using any and all media resources to get the word out on our first meeting. we'll see what other ideas pop up and vote on em. I think we could definitely hook up with the other leagues in the northwoods for some kind of competitive event, possibly the week of fourth of July and not on a tuesday or perhaps at the end of league season. There is the league out of Eagle River as well as a new league forming by the guys at Rollies, have to do some footwork on that idea but I like it!!! Keep the ball rolling and I will be in touch. I do not have email at this time but I can be reached at 715-282-7133 for the next few weeks, after the middle of march call me at 715-453-FISH. Jason how bout we give you second lake of the Moens chain south of Hwy 10??:) |

| there's also a Madison league forming, i'm sure some teams from that league would come up for a friendly competition, esp. if it's on a weekend.
get ahold of Brad Nelson (Msky Hnr) about it, he's running the league. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | AND, there was a Southern League in 2005, focused around the SE. Lakes of Pewaukee, Okachee, etc.....
So that makes 4 leagues.....do I see a tournament format forming to determine the WI league champion? |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Some great ideas here, how about this one.
Maybe we should have the first meeting the first week in April, then we could discuss certain "issues" that could affect the fishery in the Rhinelander area, and maybe remind people to vote the next week. |
