Which of these is of higher quality or more expensive? Checked the Shimano site but no link to these reels. I am looking for a left handed reel (ebay), and have seen some of these. I am an Abu man, but I was just looking.

I pretty sure The Catala was the better real of the two. But I think it has been replaced by the corvalus or the cardiff last year. I've fished the catalas for three seasons with out a problem. If you have the extra cash go with the calcutta's.

you don't want a corsair .... if you are buying something under $100.00, stay with ABU ... the calcutta's are outstanding, but the corsairs might disappoint you.

I'm curious about the Catala also. I'm looking for something in that 6500c3 price range, but i'd like to have a thumb bar. Any ideas on how the Catala stacks up against the Pflueger Trion 66?

EsoxJohnny, Take a look at the Abu 6600SSC3 exactley the same as a C3 except the color and that it has a thumb bar.

I baught a catala when they were discontinued last winter. it broke before the season started. I sent it in and they sent me back a corvalus. So I don't think they make the catalas anymore. I like my 6500 CB, it is in the same price ratio of the C3 but I believe it has a higher gear ratio, but it does have the thumbar and clicker.
