May be able to take a trip in August to Ontario. Thinking about Canyon Lake. Three lodges are on the lake, McIntosh, Blyth's and North Country. Does anyone have any experience with any of these lodges? Your advice and comments would be appreciated.

My buddy has fished this lake before and had a ton of action meaning lots of follows and a few takers...he always talks greatly about it...

I had stayed at North Country lodge quite a few years ago. Dale and Doreen where very gracious hosts. We stayed on the plan where you cook your own food, but they had a Wednesday night get together where they cooked Moose for the guests. Definately a couple of the best trips of my life...Randy

Barry,
Dont forget to check out Muskies, Inc.'s llunge log before you go up...there has been a bunch of fish turned in from Canyon and you could pick up some tips before you head up. I think Gary Dew fished up there the last few years, so he might help you out to.

Hi Barry,

I stayed there last year the week after the 4th of July. We had five people in our group. We stayed at Blyth's. This is a housekeeping plan. We had a good time.

During the week we had approximately 300 follows. We boated 15 fish, with the largest being 44". We did raised a few fish about 48" and one around 50". We also caught numerous walleyes on musky baits, with one really large walleye being lost by my boat partner.

If you have furhter questions, on the lake, feel free to contact me.

Rick

We stay at Andy Myers Lodge on Eagle and for the last 3-4 years have made the short trip to Canyon and fish it for a day. Last year my son and I caught 5, with the biggest a 39". We never did hit the lake on a cloudy day, hopefully this year. I have heard the nite bite there in early august is good. We also fish the lakes nearby including Indian Chain and Corner. Canyon is a very pretty lake and I would agree a great place to take a youngin'
