Big fan of rivers here.....specifically three rivers in WI and VERY specific stretches on two of them.

Would like to try explore more areas of these rivers and others like them.

Lost first fish of the year just last thurs. Was wadding on the Fox River in Ill as the wicked rains came then the deep freeze the day after that. 0 for 1. Does that make it a good day or a bad day for Feb 16???? Gonna try to get out again later today or tomorrow.

I love fishing rivers. I would rather fis for river muskies than a lake. More fish will ee your baits fishing lakes because you can cover more water boatng than wading, but from my experiences a lot more cooler stuff happens when fishing a river. I have fished the Rock, Yahara, Fox, and Kaskaskaia for muskies and each have a lot of differences, although stucture is structure.

Karl, the river should be open today if its warm and sunny like yesterday. A couple days ago everything but the main channels were frozen. It started upening up a bit yesterday.

i'm in the river a lot .... just like the natural scenery and the conditions that can set up in a river. lots of pressure is relieved at least up by me cause lots of people are intimidated by the crud in the rivers and maybe afraid to wreck their boat, so it kinda keeps the place quieter which is something i really enjoy when i'm fishing.
