Location: Brookfield, WI | My wife and I were baking peach-berry pies last night for a church bake sale. It was a little quiet here on the board, so while the last pie was browning up nicely, I decided to wander around the site a little bit. I think I knew where I was heading, but I let my finger go where it would. I ended up in front of the door marked CHAT ROOM. Now I could have safely returned to the forums to reread the stocking arguments, but I'm not quite ready to kill myself. I've always wondered what goes on in there. I took a breath, and opened the door.
Guess what I found? Esox50 and Pointerpride, our two college members, and they were PARTYING their a$$es off. Does Mr. Worrall know what goes on in that chat room while he's out of town? Who monitors the site for this type of behavior? I was appalled. And enthralled. I asked a couple of innocent questions and got out of there before they could corrupt me. I don't need to wake up with my eyebrows shaved off. Been there, done that. After all, I have a church bake sale today.
Honestly, they were gentlemen. Actually, I don't know if Pointer was acting like a gentleman. But it was nice to see two young guys that love fishing not arguing about one thing or another. Kind of like what's going on all over the boards in the last few days. Oh, to be young and in college. The future looks bright for these two young anglers.

Chat may become part of the plan.

| and closing OLD doors...you will find that much unlike the "Price Is Right" which only utilized a total of 3 doors, here each door leads to yet another door; a door knob here, a door knob there, here a knob, there a knob...EVERYWHERE a door knob...the entrances and exits are endless, as are the rooms to be discovered...kinda like the Mother Ship of cyber space. Anyhoos, perhaps we can make better use of the Chat Room; we're heading out for a cup of house blend, may enter meself upon return. PM me yer home addy, I'll send you a musky movie(dvd) that's sure to have you lookin' over yer shoulder! |

| Glad you joined us last night, Hopeful. Pointer was pretty hilarious (dude, if you're reading this, do you remember what you said last night?)!
The chat must become a part of the plan, at least in the winter. If not for useful muskie info, then just to hear me and Pointer chat about the on-goings at our respective universities... including all the debauchery! |

Location: minocqua, wi. | my Mike (pointerpride), Brian and Emily story was last year when there was a post from a college guy (pointerpride) who wanted to come north to fish the St. Germaine tournament with his partner (Brian) and Brian's girlfriend (Emily) ... they were asking if anyone knew of a cheap place to stay so they could fish. well, i bit. i didn't have my kids that weekend and i was fishing the hodag with Rich Gallagher and thought what the heck .... if some college kids were looking for a place to crash so they could fish ... then they couldn't be much different than i was "back in the day" with my room-mates ... we loved to hunt and fish ... partying in college in wisconsin is a given, but when young guns have the interest in the outdoors, i knew they must be decent people and it was easy to help them like i had been helped when i was in their shoes ... and i was right.
we were both going different directions for the weekend, so everyone used the house to headquarter at and after long days on the water we got a chance to stay up late, have a few beers and just b.s. about muskies. everyone had a great time and we found new friends. the guys came up again and used the camper one more time and i look forward to seeing them again for the muskynutz outing in April.
it's nice to see these guys active in the sport and working on an education that will have them protecting the resource we all love into the future ...
there are some good friends to be had on these boards ... not all connect i'm sure ... but the pride of point has 3 pretty cool young sticks on the water. not sure if you and Emily are still together Brian, but if you're smart you'll hold onto her! |

Location: Brookfield, WI | I'm pretty sure he doesn't remember, but the very first post I made on the 101 board (pre-addiction) Jonnysled (sp) offered to take me to Rollie and Helen's to tell me what baits I might need at Herbie's. It was awesome (college lingo) to talk to those kids the other night. It's like I'm there fricken dad, yet they could take me out out fishing and teach me something.

Hopefull, looking forward to getting out and doing some fishing down in SE WI this summer!
As for me in the chat, if I am in there on a Friday night there is a very high probablility that I am not sober, I try to remain relativily coherant, but sometimes I just dont know what happens to me!!!!! I love the chat and will be there as often as possible!
Thanks for all the info and help I have gotten from everyone on this site and others, I look forward to learning much more and fishing much more with everyone!

| It is great to see that there are some college kids interested in hunting and fishing. I am also a college student from Chetek WI, going to school at St. Cloud State University. I have a group of buddies who are all about hunting and fishing. Last night we were all down at a local place, planning our next adventure. A group of us are planning a turkey hunting trip down to Nebraska at the end of march, bowhunting only. We went down there last year and it was a blast. I also got talked into going up to Lake of the Woods the last weekend of spring break. Man it is great to see and hear from people that enjoy the outdoors. I just can't wait until the ice is off the lakes then everyone knows that muskie fishing is right around the corner. I guess in the mean time I will just continue with the great life of a college student. |
