| I am in the market to purchase an underwater camera, looking for imput as to those who have them. Looking at the Aqua View various models. Any opinions would be appreiciated.

Location: Palm Coast, FL | I have a friend who has an atlantis and he likes it a lot. I have heard some bad things about them. The case that it comes in has a sponge material that holds the equipment. The problem with it is that it holds moisture. I purchased a true color underwater straight from aqua vu. It was only the camera with 50 ft. of cord. I then hook a 13" tv/vcr combination to it. That way I can see better in sunlight conditions and have a larger screen. It is also easier to record with. |

Location: The desert | I have an atlantis....its not bad, but i have had problems with the connection from the battery to the monitor. Overall it is a decent camera. Seen some nice fish on it.

Location: Davenport, IA | I have a marcum and its OK. The screen will start scrolling many times and I have to take it out of the bag to adjust just to have it happen again. I wouldn't suggest buying one. |

| I have an aqua-vu SV series. It has the multi-colored lighting, temp sensor, and direction sensor on it. I recommend those features especially the multicolored lighting over the infrared lighting. You can see farther and it's much better at viewing in stained water. The direction sensor on it is pretty straight forward. I can pick out thermoclines on my main graphs but having a camera to drop down that I can use to pick out specific temp ranges is a big bonus. 4-5 degrees might not seem like much to you or I but it can make a world of difference in where fish are setting up and feeding. The biggest benefit I have gotten from mine is on unfamiliar water using it to eliminate water and providing a starting point for what patterns to throw. A graph won't tell you what kind of baitfish you are over, drop the camera down and bingo...you're over a school of perch. Having that as a tool to give a starting point has made trips to new water so much more productive.... Cameras are nice but knowing how to fine tune your graphs and get the most out of those are far and away more valuable than any camera will be. |

| My brother has Marcum VS560? not sure of the # but it has a camera head that rotates/ "pans" at the touch of a button and will scroll/spin/"pan" at 3 different speeds. It is an awesome tool. While ice fishing you can just drop it down a nearby hole and pan over to find your jig. No more trying to twist and clamp the cable in the right spot to see your bait. Then when you get bored you can spin it with the remote, which is the size of your car key/door opener to see if anything is coming from other directions.
I also used it this summer to find some rocks on a flat. I just set up the boat to drift along the flat and put the "pan" button on slow speed and as I drifted the camera looked in all directions. This way I could see to the sides of my drift, and not just along my drift path like you'd get with a stationary camera head.

I had a preview of this unit and it's awsome. I can't wait to get some video for this site and my web site. Some very cool stuff to come.

| yep, that's the one. I won't settle for any other one until I can talk the wife into that one. She loved it when she could watch the perch coming toward her bait, then spin it with the remote to see them eat the bait and get jerked upward..it was a blast, and spoiled her, I barely got to use it. Eventually we figured out that if we put it out to the side of her hole that we could see my jig in the background,. enjoy your new toy Mike.
