Location: Palm Coast, FL | Living on Sawmill Lake gives me a birdseye view every day. The lake was completely frozen this morning and will remain that way through next week with the weather forecast. I went to the dance hall ramp on Tippy and it had ice on about 50% of the lake. All the ice was on the side of the launch. After seeing that I suspected that Webster was also iced in. I will check on it tomorrow and give an update but I wouldn't count on anything. Saturday and Sunday forecast is high in the mid 20's. |

| Good AND bad time to have a boat in the marina to be worked on. Good to have it in the marina because I can't use it right now due to hard water and the marina's are able to turn the work around quickly. Bad because now the marina have nowhere to test the boat out when they're done working on it. What a dilemma....
Thanks for the update Vince

| Anyone know how thick the ice is up there on the lakes yet?
Thick enough to get out on it to ice fish? Or too thin for that yet?
I don't see any temps in the near future that show hopeful signs of helping those lakes to open up.... |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | Ice is too thin for ice fishing...for me to feel comfortable anyway. It is supposed to warm up mid week...may open up but will freeze right back up this weekend with temps in the 20's and teens. |

| Well...if it does open up...I'm hoping it's open just long enough for the marina to get out on the water to test my boat out. I'm going to put a call in to them tomorrow to see what their thoughts are and I'm going to suggest they bust on the motor repairs quickly this week and to be ready in the event that the water should open up one day just long enough to allow them to put the boat in and test it.
Bummer no one's ice fishing. Man...looks like this will be the second year in a row to not even bother getting my ice fishing gear out, much less put it to use. |

| Please, someone tell me that the lakes up there have opened up for this short time while we're having this warm weather and rain...
I'm not looking to get out and fish right now...just hoping the lakes are open just long enough to have the marina test the motor/boat out.
Going to call them today to see how they're doing.
I know today's (Thursday) is the last day of the warm weather for the next 10 days or so...it's going to nose dive again and surely the lakes will freeze back shut if they do open up today... |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | The lakes are mostly open with a few pieces of ice shifting around because of the wind. The Saturday forecast is high of 15 with wind chills from -3 to -13 degrees. |

| Cool. Thanks for the update.
Yes...I know this weekend is supposed to be cold and it'll probably freeze back up again for sure...if the wind's not blowing too hard. |

| Hey Vince, I know everything froze up again and is starting to thaw yet again but I'm wondering what it's like today. Specifically with the forecast for tomorrow, I'm hoping to get down there somewhere tomorrow afternoon. I know the lakes up here on the IN/MI line are almost open, but I don't want to drive down there tomorrow without knowing for sure. Please, what does the magic ball out your window have to say??

I believe Webster/Tippy are partly open but I don't think enough to get a boat out. Looking out of my window out on to Sawmill...it is completely frozen still. Sorry...may have to wait for at least another week with the colder weather coming this weekend. |

| I was afraid of that, but I was hoping anyway. Thank you for the quick update. Hopefully by next year I'll be lakeside out there too....
Thanks again,

| Gonna be there Wednesday too, breaking ice or not. Hopefully Tippy is open at least a little. Don't need to fix my taillights after EVERY trip....

| Vince...or anyone up there this week of Feb 27th thru March 3rd....can someone give a current update?
I called the marina today, Wed, March 1st and they tell me things are still frozen over up there. I'm finding that really hard to believe. I think they're blowin' me smoke. They're saying they're still waiting for "a" launch to open up. C'mon...things have gotta be open by now????
Not sure if they're specifically wanting to put the boat in at Backwater there on Webster and/or at Khun on Barbee Chain or what....
Any help would be appreciated. I was hoping to head up there this Friday the 3rd to collect the boat from them. But..heck..they haven't even started working on it yet due to the launches being frozen over. Not sure if I'm getting the run-around or not...
Thanks |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | Webster was about 75% open this afternoon. Sawmill was about 80% frozen. I try and post this information on my forum as much as possible also. |

| Tippy was over half open today and the wind was taking more off while I was there. Ballroom launch is ice free, the whole north end is. Oswego is starting to open up as well but the south part of Tippy is still frozen. I did not get close enough to tell how much was there or if you could follow the shore and get to James though. If only I could figure out how to actually catch fish on Tippy I'd be good....

| Okay...thank guys.
Yeah..Vince..I do pop over to your site from time to time as well.
I take it that the Backwater launch on Webster and Kuhn launch on the Barbee Chain probably are indeed still iced up then.
Welllllllllll......dangit.... |

| Thanks for the update Vince. The marina called me today finally. They were able to get the boat in the water to do their testing and find out what was needed. Should have the boat back mid-week next week. |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | Sawmill had about 30% ice left on it when I left for work this afternoon. I am sure it opened up the rest of the way. I would say 99% sure that 100% of the lakes are open for business! With the warm weather setting in this weekend...I don't see it freezing back up until later this year!!! woooooowhoooooooooo...time to put some more in the boat! |
