Location: Athens, Ohio | What is the difference between car wax and boat wax?
I'm making some repairs on my fiberglass boat, have taken a number of scratches out with rubbing compound and now I'm to the point of repairing the gel coat with a kit mix. After that, I'll need to re-wax everything. No place close sells paste wax for boats. I have a bottle of liquid boat wax that says it is good to use 'between waxings'. If I just hit it good with paste Turtle Wax, will that work? thanks, m

| I want to say there's no difference but I'm not sure. The boat wax might have move UV protection and/or might have additives for removing hard water deposits like spots/buildup. That's just a guess though. And, I'm drawing a complete blank on what I use on mine. Right now couldn't even tell you if it was boat wax or not.

Location: Athens, Ohio | Yeah, I asked the same question of a manufacturer's rep and he said the same thing: wax is wax (his was a bit better, though!). thanks, m
