| The title pretty much asks it all. I've spent a lot of $ already this off season in quest of my first fish- but have enough remaining for a manta, and one versatile DEEP water(8-20) trolling bait. What do you recommend?
All the best,

| For suspended Muskies from 8 to 20 feet, over open water,I like to troll a little faster then when working deeper structure,or bottom crunching at depths of 25 to 35 feet. For the faster open water trolling I use Jtd. Depthraiders from 3.5 mph to 4.5 mph,but for speeds from 5.0 to 6.5 mph the Wiley Musky King Jtd or Wiley Fatboy's are the ticket. |

| DJ,
My vote for versatility would be the Slammer Deep Diver. You can cast them and you can troll them. I had great success trolling fast and slow in 8 to 20 feet of water with them. They have great wobble to them. The nice thing about them is they are extremely easy to cast. You can feel the thumping of the side to side wobble when you straight retrieve them. You can crash deep rock bars with them which is an excellent big fish tactic. My favorite technique is to reel them down deep and then start twitching them. Talk about a deadly looking bait. |

| For Deep diving cranks I would say depth raider, ernies, believers.
As far as color, it depends what the visibility of water. For darker/murky water most people tend to use brighter baits so the fish can see easier. Clearer water I would switch to a more dull color something like black, or brown. |

| I like my Hi-Fin Trophy divers jointed for trolling. Though I don't do alot of it I'll admit, when I do troll on the clear lakes of Sawyer and Bayfield, those and 10" Jakes are what I snap on. |
