A buddy of mine just picked up a couple of 10'6" guide series trolling rods and has been looking for line/leader advice. They're heavy rods, but very slow. These rods will typically be used as the deep setups, 20-30ft.
Thanks guys.

woody, if you are pulling big, heavy baits I suggest 100-150 lb whiplash with 100lb flouro leaders.

I run 30# Fireline on my 10' boatrods, a 6' leader 60# Trilene Big Game. Normally 4-10 oz roundball ahead of 6" wooden body baits in spring, 8-12" in fall. Troll speed 4-7mph. A high quality reel is a must. On all my board rods and out rods are Daiwa Sealine 47lc and Penn 210s on my downrods. Thats the setup of most trolling rigs on Lk. St. Clair.
