| Welcome to my world Doc. The only ones that I can view are the ones that Cady puts up for immediate viewing. And I can't post anything. My jpegs just won't attach.
I give up.

| I hear ya Beav. If Zach B. reads this maybe he can figure it out. I can download saved pictures I got from another source but nothing I have saved that I scanned in myself. Does that make sense???

| I use Adobe Photo Deluxe. I have a file of myphotos that I attach to e-mails with no trouble. When I try to attach them here, I get a 'program error' note. And anything that I try to view...no matter where I try to save it or view it, I get ...'an unexpected end-of-file was encountered'.
I too am a computer 101 person. Cady spent an hour with me one night trying to get stuff to open or attach and we couldn't get it figured out.

| Hey Doc Esox make sure when you save out the file as a jpeg format. The problem may be that the format that your are saving your pictures isn't correct. Many times the file type will default to the last format that the previous scan was saved in. The Browsers/web applications can only view certain types of images such as jpg.gif, and mpg. Also make sure the file isn't larger than 8 bits/channel. We have a scanner at work that defaults at a higher bit level but it wouldn't work for certain applications. It's not until we reduce the bit level to 8 bits/channel that we are able to use the scan. I noticed that your file indeed has the .jpg suffix after it, but is that what you're naming it or is the suffix added because that's the file type that it is? If it indedd is the file format that is placed at the end of the name of the image than that's o.k. But double check the bit amount.
Oh by the way, nice King Salmon.
Hope that helps.

| This should be it....my wife figure it out. It's one of those sucky Microsoft things. My pictures were all in the appropriate .jpg format but under Quicktime...none of these would work. We switched them to .jpg under a Microsoft program (Picture It) and they download fine. Thank-you Mr. Gates!!! Bu!!head.
Anyone else with similar problems my try my wifes' fix...it worked. Microsoft probably programmed in the conflict on purpose....

| Way to go Doc!!!! You got it to work. Curious? What did you find wrong with the file? Another nice fish!!!! Plus, I could see myself sitting at that beach sucking down a cold one.

| Well, I could view Docs pic. Look yummy.
I still can't post anything. Where do I find how many bits/channel I'm using?

| Hey Beaver I have the Adobe Photoshop application at home and work. That's where I do all my photo work. In Photoshop look under the menu: Image/ gotto the Mode submenu, and under that you should see the 8bits/Channel or 16bits/Channel. Make sure it's at 8Bits. Also when you save it out make sure it's in jpeg, format also. If you want email me your picture and I'll see what I can do with it. Take the picture and place it into a folder. Compress the file into a BinHex, Zipit,Sit format and send it to me at [email protected]. I'll try to trouble-shoot the scan issue.
Again it's Image/Mode/8Bits/channel

| LOL Jason. Whereas it is true that king, actually caught right in Anchorage at lunchtime, may be longer than yours....yours is fatter. So is it length or girth that matters most Jason??? [] [;)]

| Here's a pic of a awesome fish that Beav's wife had caught. Man that's a nice fish!!! I can see why you married her. Now if only I could get my girlfriend to fish like that!!!
Hey Beaver I took a look at your file and everything was O.K. It was saved in the right format and the file size wasn't too big.(I did reduce the resolution of the file from 150 ppi to 72 ppi because that's a high enough resolution for viewing on a monitor without the degradation of the photo.) I'm guessing you may possibly have a Macintosh computer like I have, and was using Internet Explorer for your browser. Because I did have a problem uploading the file via Internet Explorer 5. I had the same problem that you had explained. How I did upload the file was by using Netscape Communicator 4.75. That browser allowed me to upload your wife's photo without a hitch. So long story short, Download the latest version of Netscape off the Internet(it's free)and use that browser for uploading scans. We'll have to make due until the bug is fixed on the board or in Internet Explorer itself. Hope that helps you out, and take care.

| I still can't load pictures, I don't think it is the format of my pictures as I browse my files select the one I want and click upload and poof I get and error page not found thingnamagig. [:(] |
|
| |
|
| Doc,
It isnt the length or the girth...its the fact that they are all fun...Thats why we fish.[;)] [] |
|
| |
|
| trying to load a file |
|
| |
|
| I couldn't download them on my home computer....unexpected end of file...or some other error. So I'm trying them at my work computer and can only view a couple of them.
So, I checked the properties of the ones that I can view and they all say...yadda-yadda-yadda-2310....others that are 2380, 2530..etc won't download. And I still can't put anything up.
Maybe my computer needs Viagra!?[:p]

| |
|
| Ok my turn. I will try a small one first. I am using Internet Explorer 5.5 |
|
| |
|
| Well the first one worked. I use Acrsoft Photostudio2000 for an image editor. This file is 245K and a much better pic let's see if it works. |
|
| |
|
| Well they both worked for me and I'm not doing anything special about 8 or 16bit. Just scanned at 200dpi but I did have to reduce the quality in the save as menu of photostudio to get the size of the file below the maximum of 250K. To download the high quality version goto www.crmuskyclub.com it is thumbnailed on the members pictures page. Just click on it to open the full size page then right click on the picture to save it if you wish. It makes a great desktop or screensaver picture. |
|
| |
|
| Can't see either of them.....unexpected end of file was encountered...as usual[:(] |
|
| |
|
| JoMusky's both opened for me, one thing is that I don't save it to my computer, I open it from it's location. Takes 2-3 clicks of "OK" to do this, don't know if that will make a difference for you folks or not. |
|
| |
|
| Try one more time . Cut down the size of it. [:((] |
