I have been useing the Pete Maina 8 ft. rod combo from Bass Pro Shop and have found it a good setup for the money. It handles bull dawgs, weagles and other heavy baits without to much trouble.

8' H Fig Rig Extreme Series

$90

Best big bait rod I have used. Pounders, Mag Treats, Mag Dawgs, handles them all without a problem.

That St Croix is one awesome rod too...held one at Thornes the other day. needs a little longer and fatter handle IMO.

Was just working over a new Fig Rig 7' glass rod about a couple hours ago @ Gander Mtn Appleton. Will easily handle 8 oz/big stuff.

Great price point, too ($109.99).

Weedsnager, what rod did you end up getting? I got a set of musky snax baits coming my way and would like a nice set up to work them. Thanks.
