I was wondering what kind of stuff I can expect to see at the bait swap? Is it pretty much just individual guys that bring used stuff or baits they never got around to using that they want to trade or sell? Or do some of you guys that do the basement bait thing have some pieces to trade or buy? I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some of these types of baits at the show or the swap. I have gift certificates I can use at Smokey's anytime to buy the mass produced stuff, but some of the baits you guys hand make look absolutely terrific. Really pieces of art. Also, is the swap location a place some people may be on Friday after the show? Or is it just the big rally point for Saturday?

I almost forgot. The buddy I have coming with me was wondering how many of those little cartons of nightcrawlers he'll need to bring in order to walk out of the swap with a bait or three. He says he also has a little package of red worms from this fall he can throw into any deal. He says those were starting to stink a little though the last time he checked.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, it might help your buddy to be sure and wear a lot of Packer clothing while bartering down in Chi town. It helps in breaking the ice, before beginning serious negotiations.

It is a bit of everything you have said. Some junk all the way up to hughes river baits. Todd Clevelend from phantom has been known to bring some custom work to the swap meets as well as several other baitmakers. Some people just want to sell and sell cheap, others try to trade and a select very select few are looking for suckers with a box full of baits at their original retail price.
