Location: Bloomington, Illinois | I was looking on EBAy and saw these...Thought I might pick one up to have in the boat as an emergency back-up...Has anyone used them before? Is it a decent deal? Thanks...... http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Abu-Garcia-Ambassadeur-6000-Bait-Cast-Reels... | |

| The 5000 and 6000 lines from garcia are pretty much their lowest and cheapest made reels. They will work, and do their job as long as you take care of them. These reels have fewer bearings...could even be plastic bushings instead of bearings for the reel handle, and maybe some different components, but they are almost identical in design.
They will last as long as you keep them greased and clean, but they may not last as long as a C3 or higher grade.
Check out walleyecentral.com. There are two listed in their swap board that are C3 at $50 each, and brand new from what I could tell.

| I think Wal-Mart has them for less. | |
