| Last fall I purchased a new gortex jacket from Bass Pro. The salesman recommended washing it frequently, once a month, I think he said to keep the pores clear. Even to wash whether it is used or not or stored under plastic. Otherwise in time the gortex looses its affectiveness. Is this right? | |

Buy a 5 oz spray can of Revivex which is used for obtaining the repellency you may have lost from frequent washing of Goretex clothing. I bought my bottle at Gander Mountain. It is recommended for goretex products.
