| 50-inch size limits for Oneida County"
Hi guys:
We need a little help here with some letter-writing to generate support for 50-inch size limits on three Oneida County, Wisconsin, lakes -- Clear, Big Carr and North Nokomis.
A 50-inch size limit for these lakes was to have appeared on the ballot at the April conservation congress rules hearings. The rule proposal was recommended by DNR fisheries biologist Mike Vogelsang, who believed these three would be a good start. Not only are they deep and cisco-based, but there is minimal resort interest. Other waters that could benefit -- such as the Minocqua Chain itself -- are loaded with resorts and Mike feels they may be good candidates at a later date.
HOWEVER, an influential member of the conservation congress urged the state's Natural Resources Board to delete the vote for the 50-inch limit on these lakes and the board compromised, allowing a vote for a 50-inch size limit for Clear but not Big Carr and North Nokomis.
THERE IS STILL TIME to include the other two lakes on the April ballot if enough support is shown by the public. This is where your efforts can help.
PLEASE WRITE letters of support to the following Natural Resources Board members:
Herb Behnke, N5960 Wolf River Road, Shawano, WI 54166
Trig Solberg, Box 50, Minocqua, WI 54548
Jim Tiefenthaler, W228 N683 Westmound Drive, Waukesha, WI 52186
Jerry O'Brien, Box 228, Stevens Point, WI 54481-0228
A few letters can make a difference! & if we get it for a few lakes now it might be easier to add lakes as we go
Thanks in advance for your support.

| Jeff, I posted a thread over on lake-link.com called "musky size limits, your thoughts(non-musky anglers)". It has some great responses all favorable and all by non-musky anglers. I would print it out and present it as info. I hope this helps some more.[:)] | |
