well im gonna take the dive and give the new optima gel batteries a shot this year, i havnt heard anything bad about them, except the price. but they seem right up my alley cause i hate batteries and love abusing them, cause i just plain dont like taking care of them! for just my trolling motor what size is best or is there only one size in the deep cycle?? anyone found the cheapest place to buy these things??? ( im in the chicago area)

Get the biggest one they have, group 31 is one i'd suggest unless you need two, then the trollfury

John,

I know you're probably still considering the Trojan v. Optimas, but you know my advice: assuming it will fit, DEFINITELY get the bigger one!! The money difference should work out to be nothing over the years you own it.

Actually, no matter what you get you should by the biggest one.

thanks dave!! yes bigger is better!!! were still lookin into everything luckily we have til spring to decide, brad nelson has been getting good feedback from a battery rep up by him, check out mikes board! see ya next week!!!
