Location: Mpls, MN | Don't think the new reels would require a certian type of rod. Depends what you are casting. What kind of baits are you talking about? A 10" HR Prosucker would be a different setup then a say a 10 Grandma. Least I would use something different. Probably better people to answer this question then me.
