| I would like to explain how this "Musky Christmas Poem" came about. Thanks to Josh (our son), I am addicted to Musky fishing and probably at some point will need therapy. Joel says, "I don't need therapy, he needs a maid to cook and clean.
Back to how this Poem came about. We were shopping for Christmas Cards to send this year and as usual couldn't find anything that tripped my trigger, so after several stops, Joel made the mistake of asking what seems to be the problem? To which my reply was "I can't find any Christmas cards about Musky fishing.
The next morning, Joel handed me this poem he had written the night before so I could make my own Christmas cards.
It's just to good not to share with everyone, so enjoy and Merry Christmas.
" The Musky Fisherman's Christmas Poem"
‘Twas the night before closing, and we were still fishin’,
No ice on the water? At least we were wishin’.
Chasing those muskies, we’d spent the whole season,
Early out and late in; Do we need a good reason?
Early to rise, what cry would we hear?
“Mom, get dressed, we’re going to Deer”.
“Or should it be Bone, Altoona or Moon?
The River sounds good, if we get there real soon”.
On Spider, on Holcombe, Amacoy, Sand,
Wissota and Callahan; Will we ever see land?
Eau Claire and Tiger, Lost Land and Teal,
Hayward and Ghost, this is getting unreal.
With so little time, and too many lakes,
Chasing that muskie, whatever it takes.
All the baits are now made, tucked snug in their shells
Bedtime, I think, it’s well past 3 bells.
Our thoughts must now turn to a much better season,
It’s Christmas, you see, cherish the reason.

| Your son has talent. Encourge him to keep writting. I've dabbeled at it off and on and I know how hard it can be sometimes to get the words to come out or to get them to rhyme. Thanks for the humor and the message. Just don't let him stop writting.
