Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | There is no significant natural reproduction/recruitment in the Cave according to the fisheries folks down there. The fish are native to Kentucky, I believe from the Licking River originally. Again, if I remember correctly, it's a habitat problem leading to poor NR. |

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | Every Oct,1 the Ky. DNR stock 1000 to 3000 , 14" to 17" licking river fish in Cave Run Lake, these fish are stocked all over the lake at boat ramps 500 to a ramp. The fish are the same as the Ohio River Basin fish. These are fast growing fish and live to an age of 15 to 17 years . The fish top out at around 55" and 45 Lbs. These are river fish and do not spawn well in Lakes. These fish that are stocked are raised here at cave run and put back in the lake. Marv. |
