Location: Madison, WI | Have you ever wondered what to do with a fish that you may have hooked badly? CPR. These fish are stronger than we may believe or even give them credit. Check out this pic of a fish I caught Holloween weekend near Minocqua. My hooks were right in the corner of her mouth. No blood and was quickly/completely removed. A previous angler must of caught and ripped a gill. The angler released her, as I did, for her to live and fight another day. I want to thank that person for giving this fish a chance to live so that I and others my have a dance with her. I realize not all fish would live through this type of ordeal but this one did.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | So have I, and Muskies too. Sometimes they survive a trauma like that just fine, so one cannot be sure. I release 'em, feel bad if there's too much damage, get over it and fish some more. |
