Location: Elgin ,IL | The Fox Chain is freezing up! Water temps on Channel & Catherine yesterday were 36-38 degreees. As of yesterday (11/26) Lake Marie is frozen completely and NOT navigable by boat. There is ice around the perimeter of Channel & Catherine. Bob's Marina is frozen in solid and you cannot launch from there. Mentone's is open but getting in & out it hazerdous as the lake is down nearly 3 feet. I got stuck there yesterday. Having salt in my truck was key to getting my truck & trailer out of the lake.
This may all change in the next week with warmer Just wanted to give everybody a heads up. |
