I received a phone call yesterday from Jan Zaballa informing me that Bob Zaballa aka "Barnacle Bob" previous owners of Barnacle Bob's on Lake Marie had passed away over the weekend. Bob was 69 years old. Those of you who knew Bob know his dry sense of humor was a good one and he always had a new joke when you went into the diner in the morning. He also had his famous line of "The fish are shallow, deep, or somwhere in between" to go along with his magic sleeping worms which were more expensive because they didn't move which made them easier to put on the hook. His gruff voice may have mistaken him for rude or mean, but he had a huge heart and was such a kind person. I grew up from a young kid learning his jokes, good & dirty. He will be sorely missed.

There are no set details on a memorial service I know of yet, but I will post them when I find out.
