Hope this doesn't cause a problem, but check out this big sow recently caught (and released) in Vermillion. This girl has got a huge weight problem! Wish she was mine.

I don't know the guy but it was 53" long.
I sure would like to know what the girth was on that pig.

I don't know for sure, but from where the sun is setting I would guess it was caught in Big Bay.

Just a guess!!!

The first time I saw the thread, the original poster stated it was another "Vermillion piggy". And the markings do resemble an Upper Miss. strain fish. But who really knows where it was caught....or cares for that matter! It's one gorgeous fish. Would have loved to see how that fish looked with more daylight! And if I was holding it, I think it would even have been a better picture... but that's just me.

Gotta give the guy credit for the catch AND the release. Might give one of us another shot at the fish of a lifetime. If you know the guy personally... shake his hand on my behalf.

I saw it on another website that the fish was 52.5 with a 28.5" girth, that would make it 53.3lb by the formula.

Hey Steve, I only guessed Big Bay due to the large body of water between them and the sunset. Not to mention that the shoreline looks very familiar.

It's not like I haven't been wrong before.

I would have to agree with guest on this one. Based on the "relative plumpness" of this fish it must be an old WI strain fish that was stocked there many years ago. It couldn't possibly be one of those skinny leech lake fish. Hey Dave, are you out there? What do you think? Is it a skinny leech fish or a WI fish?

(LMFAO)

I am the lucky angler that caught this pig. I never did say where I caught it and that will remain a secret. Want to know. Well I caught it in the corner of the mouth, actually it had the whole dam bait in it's mouth. It was one of the high lights of my anglering career. The replica is ordered....

Congrats silverscale. Wish I had been with you. that is quite the fish. I am really impressed you let it go. I would have been sorely tempted. Its so close to the Minnesota State record. Close lipped as usual as to where you have been fishing I see. Did you pull it out of one of those secret childhood holes down by Bemidji you've been keeping secret from me? You will have to take me this next year. Now I will not take no for an answer. I want a shot at her.
