does anybody fish these and if so, how do you fish them? Which size works best for big northerns and what action do they have? I heard they get one leadshot in the head but do they sink/suspend/float? Do they glide, dive/glide, ... ? I'm interested in trying one but I'd like some more information about these.

They glide like Thick Shady on the dance floor. Side to Side.. and always wide.

Put 1/4 ounce off lead in the front of the first hook. She will sing a song for you then.

now for real, what do they do? Are they floaters or sinkers? I know they glide. How deep do they run?

I've got a 6" that is the most tempramental S.O.B. If its dry and hasn't been in the water for a while it pops out of the water. Cast it for an hour or drag it behind the boat to soak it and it'll run pretty good down to 4'as long as you don't drift too fast. If you have to speed up your retrieve due to drift speed then it starts to porpoise again. Of course how it runs depends on the weather, temperature, sun or clouds, aluminum or fiberglass boat etc., etc., etc. I didn't use it much last year. Maybe time to get rid of it and try another one. Or add 1/4 oz of lead in front of the front hook?????

sounds like this lure truely has a character of its own just like the reef hawgs! [:p]

so I should simply fish 'em back with short pulls. Soft or hard pulls?

Try having less slack in your line when you work the eddie bait, it will not pop out of the water then. practice with this bait because everyone is different. have patience with it. it will pay off in the long run if you just practice with each one to learn its "personality" I use these a ton so I have plenty of practice.

so you cast out, start reeling and while doing that, you move the rod to the left and then to the right throughout the retrieve? Any particular way you move the rod (fast slow and gradually, ... ?)

this is interesting!

just checking, don't bite my head off!![;)]

I wondered if there were as many retrieve styles for the eddie as there are for the reef hawg, that's why I asked. But thanks anyway, anon!
