Please post here when your area waters ice over completely. This will be a good resource for folks trying to get one last day on the water before winter sets in.

Don't forget to put some kitty litter in the back of your truck to throw down if the landing is icy.

The Warroad River is froze to the big lake. The forcast for tonight is for -8 below. There is 8" of snow on the ground at deer camp, but it's suppose to warm a little for a few day over the week end. Kind of doubt I'll get out again. Guess the next time I'll be fishing muskies will be in Tennessee. I would guess there would be fishable ice around the second week of December the way the forecast looks.

Lake Vermilion just went under the ice last night. I don't think all of the big lake is covered yet, however all the back bays are frozen.

The weather for the weekend won't be to bad unfortunately, I think the big lake will freeze over by then.

See ya next summer!

Location: Rhinelander, WI Well, after the low single digits last night many of the smaller lakes from Rhinelander to Eagle River are iced over. Reports of some people venturing out on some of the lakes, and not by boat either. Getting in that first ice bite. I would definitely give it a little bit yet. I do not think that our high temp for the day today made it above 20 degrees. It would be nice to have some good ice early. The larger lakes are of course still open. What I saw of the Three Lakes Chain today was all open.

Hard water fishing is right around the corner.

Be safe if you are venturing out on the ice or in a boat and good luck to all deer hunters hitting the woods this weekend in Wisconsin.

After checking out a few other locations on Vermilion, there is still some open water on Big Bay.

Most of the ramps on the lake have 100 or so yards of ice out in front of them. It would be difficult to get in today, but the weekend will be a little warmer. One might be able to do some fishing then.

Got up by me to check things out........iced in on Palmer. Went over to LVD and it was open, but the Misery Bay landing was completely iced and snowed over.

Walked out about 100ft by me....got wet, twice. Here I thought that I'd be tip-up fishing...nooooo

Talked to someone at the Sunset Bar (formerly the Bamboo Bar) this morning, and they said that Shawano iced up overnight last night.

Pewaukee lake is still open on the West end. The East end locked up last night(11/25).

Water temps are in the mid to upper 30's on the West end. About a half doz rigs out today. I put the boat away today and hooked up the snow plow for tonight. I will be out with friends this weekend in their rigs.

Saturday and Sunday looks good for Pewaukee lake. Fish have been going in small windows. 10 to 2pm has been the best times. 11 to 14ft for smaller fish and 18 to 28ft for the larger fish lately.

Good luck and be safe !!!

Not that many will care but, Nebraska is effectively done for 2005.

Around Merritt Reservior we have our first storm for 2005 with heavy snow, 25 degree temps and sustained 40 mph winds.

Wave action will keep Merritt slushed but semi-open as long as we have 40 mph winds but, the smaller lakes are icing over as we speak, rivers/creeks are icing up as well.

The Indiana lakes are still open. We got a 48" yesterday and lost another around 40". Backwater had ice on it last week but disappeared quickly over the weekend. Another cold snap coming...Webster will probably be closed soon but Tippy should be open for another week or so.
