| Do you bring everything that you own?
Do you take everything in the boat with you or leave someback at the cabin and pick and choose each day?
Do you stick with just a few lures when on the water or can you become a compulsive lure switcher,like me ,when things are slow? | |

| From my one Canadian trip I learned that the most important thing to pack is the bug gear: headnets, playtex rubber gloves, rain suit, light rubber boots and good bug dope. The evening rise of mosquitos on northwestern LOTW that summer was unbelievable. Folks who didn't have protection were miserable in the evening - many stayed back at camp. Regarding tackle - I would take along as much as I could stow and still have room to safely move around on the boat. Have a great trip! | |

| Do your homework and get a box together of your go to baits. A good mix of bucktails, topwaters, jerkbaits, gliders and cranks.
Then put together a back up box... baits that you think you might need.. Leave that in the cabin and if you need it.. you have it.
I prefer a low amount of gear because for the extended times in the boat its nice to have room to walk around.
Make sure you good tools there to repair baits. Loosing a good bait earlier in the trip can kill the confidence. So bring plenty of hooks, split rings, epoxy, wire and a small vice. I cant tell you how many times I have had to rebuild a hot bucktail. Those nasty pike can beat your tackle up more then muskies.
Buy good rain gear.. it rains every three days in Canada.
Plan a fish fry of walleyes on an island... its priceless.[:bigsmile:]
Bring spare tires and bearings and a good jack
Bring a spare trolling motor prop and boat props too. If you have a spare trolling motor... bring it and leave it in the truck. At least you can get it if you need it.
Get the best maps available.....or just bring Worrall if you are on the Goon.[;)] | |
