They just opened a new BPS in Council Bluffs, and had to go look around.I looked at the Berkley Lighting Rods. They didn't have many, but the eyes, don't have any inserts, just metel. I've never owned one. Is this good?

Don't know about the berkley rods, but i use BPS musky rods for trolling and some casting. They have a stalky 6'3" normally for can be found for 20 bucks, been using them for 2 years now and haven't had a problem...

Rods have had just metal guides form day one. Tons of saltwater rods still use them also. They can't be too bad to have lasted so long. I would wonder however how they would hold up to line stripping out under heavy pressure with some of the super lines, they can be quite abrasive compared to mono.
