How many of you had action on the suckers this weekend while struggling on the artificial end of things? We moved a couple on gliders, had one paste a Perka, but the suckers scored the best action. How about you?

In the Rhinelander area where I now reside MEAT is hot, hotter then a pistol in fact. Been keeping track through some tackleshops and resorts and its the same all the area. Suckers are the way to go.

on Pewaukee and Okauchee, meat has been the ticket, although I did get one on a believer a week and a half ago.

In my area its still 50/50 right now.Very slow moving artificials like x glides and Hughes river glide baits are holding their own versus live bait.Muskies are preferring smaller suckers -AND THEY BETTER BE LIVELY ONES!The Presque Isle sucker rig is batting 1000 though even with light hits as we are seting the hook immediately.A couple fish in the last two days hit the sucker very lightly in the rear area nowhere near the hook but we still got them before they let it go.Overall its not a great fall as water temps on the bigger lakes are still near 50 degrees.Saw ciscoes staging off spawning areas for the first time yesterday.

On Saturday, the sucker never got a look. Got one and saw three more all on either Hawgseekers Slow Tease on the new Hawg Teaser. Buddy was out a few more hours than we were and he had same results.

Weekend of 10/28 was 40 % on Suckers 60% on Slow Tease.

Sucker action is slow on Monona, water temps are still 53.5-54 degrees. Every fish that has picked up a sucker has dropped it. I haven't even had a chance to set a hook on one yet this year. Artificals are out producing suckers around here.

What are the water temps in the Rhinelander area?

Water temps in the Rhinelander area are ranging from a low of 43 to a high of 48. Most lakes are in the 43-46 range right now though.

Boom was 44 on Saturday. A customer forgot his wallet in the store and I knew he was going out there so I got to get in the boat and go find him. Hey, I got on the water, lol.

I never use live bait unless I plan on keeping what I catch to eat.
