I have had good luck with the Northland Bionic Bucktail spinnerbaits, but they start losing the dressing after a few fish. Anyone have good luck with a spinnerbait that will hold up better?

Try VooDoo Tials.

Otter,

I have had good luck with the Bionic Bucktails but am a little skeptical after a 41" fish broke one (broke off the back hook) after I got the fish in the net.

Shumway Funky Chickens are great. Different sizes and Bruce can make custom colors as well. I actually picked up a bunch more at the Waukesha show this weekend and put in an order for some more custom colors.

Violent Strike Spinnerbaits are tough as all getout. I can usually catch dozens of pike and a few muskies before having to replace the skirt. []

Grim Reapers are the best! They will after time lose their skirts, but they make special skirts for them.

Funky Chickens run true and hold up very very well. I second what Scott Jenkins had to say.

I can confirm the comments on the FunkyChicken. It comes through vegetation surprizingly well, which other types haven't done.

try the Dinnerbait spinner it has a .51 wire 2 Owner 5/0 hooks and the best hand tied buck tail I've seen. I know two guides on Cave Run that have caught a dozen or more muskies on the same lure. The bait can be hard to get because it is hand made. I prefer the 1oz. double turtle back blades.
