| What's your average length muskie for this year? How many hours do you think you put in between muskies? This should be something to compare the difference between areas of the Muskie world.
My average this year was just under 40". Not that I caught alot of them, but I'm learning! I put in about 12 hours between fish, about. I wish I had more time to get on the lake. My average would be better then I think.

I'd have caught more muskies walleye fishing, and I'm not kidding.

| This is an interesting thread and brings to mind another thought... what makes a good muskie fisherman? I mean, does more time on the water and water you're fishing equate a better fisherman? Does knowing which bait to throw, how to present it correctly and when, but not fishing quality muskie lakes and therefore, not catching as many--or as big--fish make you a not-so-good muskie man? I have thought about this a lot over the years. I don't get a chance to fish often, but I study a lot and try to incorporate it into how I fish when I do get out, but the largest muskie I have to my name is a 42 and I don't catch them very often.
Just thinking out loud, I guess. |

| 6 fish Avg 42.2 ( Mine )
8 fish Avg 43 (My Boat)
Avg time between fish 9 Hrs. I think thses numbers would be better if I had less trips, and longer durations. My avg trip is less that 4 hrs on the water. It's kinda tough to put together much of a pattern in that time. |

I suck at math. How do you figure out the Average length without messing around with an excel program?.
I have 11 fish so far.

Time between fish isn't important to me. I enjoy the time on the water anyway. |

Ok, what makes a good fisherman?
Being able to catch fish when nobody else can. |

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | 40.5" average with about 18 hours per fish. If you add my boat partner's fish into the equation, it changes the totals to 40.8" and about 15 hours per fish. All central and northern MN waters.

Lots of low 30s this year. Didn't really realize it until I did the calculations. |

Location: searchin for 50 | My aveerage is 34.25 with 7 in the boat. A lot of fishless days but a couple of multi fish averages it out to about 10 hrs between fish . As for being a good fisherman it is definately T.O.W. You definately have to go with your instincts while your out as to what baits you are going to throw. This year I caught my fish on just about every type of bait except for two (topwater, glide). |
