| The Chicago Musky Show...the "original"....all the vendors want to be there...i think it has the most vendors, booths, seminars, companies there. I belive it brings in the most traffic of any show...
Good parking, lots of stuff to buy..guides, baits, rods, boats, seminars, all of it...it's great. i have only been to 3 different shows...the Chicago Show is my favorite.

i am NOT knocking all the other shows..they are also fabulous..but if i'm flying accross the Atlantic for a musky show....this is the one i'd be at.

| Well If you gonna come all the way from Italy I would say the TRI ESSOX Chicago muskie expo in January..the promoters spend alot of $ on getting all the big name speakers in the sport to do seminars,,Its the first show of the season and it always seems like people are more 'pumped' both vendors and attendees because its the First one,,besides you will feel at home the pizza is the best in the countryl |

| The Tri-Esox Chicago Show is the first of the year and the best. The others are fun too, but this is the one to see. All the way from Italy, I imagine you will load up on lures and then head home. Great speakers and great exhibits, please great new lures and custom colors. |

| Actually the chicago show is the second one of the season.
The Extreme show (Jan 6-8) in Pitt. is the first.
The tri-esox show is the best by far. More vendors, more speakers, wallet is still fat (kinda), pool side demo allows you to see the new products in action.
The Food sucks though. |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | The best "little" show is New London, but, I think the God's Country show in La Crosse is gonna have them beat this year. God's Country put on a great show last year, considering it was thier first. |

Location: Lincoln UK | I'm off to the Chicago show for the first time this year, hoping it is all it is made out to be. Big problem is that I'll be stuck in the middle of Chicago (girlie = shopping) Public transport looks a nightmare to get to the show, any kind souls in the area going that way? I want to go Fri and poss Sat too, willing to help with gas and I'd even pay your entrance. |

| Where will you be staying? Will you be in the city and trying to get out to Palatine? From the city, it's about an hour drive out to the show, and you're right -- public transportation might be a challenge.
There are TONS of people from this area that go to all the Chicago shows, though. I'm sure someone will be able to give you a lift. Otherwise, I'm sure there's someone familiar with the rail system and schedules who can help you figure it out. If nothing else let me know, I'll give 'ya a ride from the train station to the show and back. |

| When I have to go into the city, I take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest line from the Palatine station. The Chicago station is the Ogilivy Transportation Center on Madison Street. You could take the Metra train from the city, and then take a cab about 5 minutes to the show at Harper College. You can check the train schedule online, just google Chicago Metra Northwest Line to Harvard.
I live about 5 minutes from the show, I would be glad to drive you from the train station if that works best. |

Location: Lincoln UK | I haven't a clue on exact location yet but it will be on of the hotels in the main shopping area. Checked the public transport a while ago and it involved about 3 bus changes and 2 trains equaling loads of hassle and a time consuming journey. Hoping someone out there will take pity on me! I might have to take you up on the offer from the train if nobody pitches up, we have a good while yet. Watch out for my more desperate posts as the time gets nearer. Just need enough room for me and a suitcase full of Trueglides! |

Location: The Yahara Chain | I like the Milwaukee show the best. I do like the pool demos in Chicago, some vendors let you throw their lures in the pool.
In my opinion
1. Milwaukee
1a. Chicago |

| I've been to Milwaukee several times and Chicago once. I like the Milwaukee show better. Lot's more room, more relaxed and able to talk to the exhibitors (Dave D, Billy Schwartz and my man Mr. SVL) and the guys you haven't seen for a year.
The amount of product and booths was great at Chicago but waaaaaaay to crowded for me.
Milwaukee is more spread out and less crowded.

Location: Athens, Ohio | I'd say the Columbus, Ohio show:
it is later in the show season and there is fishable waters close by if you'd rather practice than hear the preaching. That is, in addition to the Ted Nugent entertainment portion! m |

Either way...you guys from the UK are totally nuts...no wonder you fit in with all the muskie guys. Your next trip to North American should be to some musky fishing lakes!!!!!!!!!!!

Location: Lincoln UK | Tomcat,
must say that I loved it. I was that kid in a sweetshop I'm afraid but you can never have too many lures.
My first impression was that it was a little smaller than expected but I spent most of Friday there and then again Sat and was still finding more stuff so cannot knock it in any way. I would love to come over again but it won't be for a couple of years at least.
Met some great people there and some of my baitmaking hero's too, spent over an hour talking to Jack Cobb and Mark Smith, top fellas and I think Joe Peterson thought he had a stalker at one point!
Would like to say a big thank you to everyone I met, all great people and a special thanks to Kevin who dragged me all over and introduced me to everyone.

Way to tight at Chicago and I think just as much at brew town and way more fun with the swap at the hotel you can stay at with all the big name vendors. Very cool to drink and talk musky with all the big dogs and then not have to drive. |

| I like the Extreme show in MN the best. After that it's a tossup between the rest. The MN Extreme show is at the best location bar none. A lot more personal and awesome food and drinks. The Chicago Extreme show will be at a new location so I'm looking forward to that also. Lots of shows are getting too expensive for the average vendor to get a booth. The extreme shows and the Blaine MN show are still affordable for a big show.

Hi Tomcat, don’t make it.
I’ve only checked here for your preference because I was planning to take a boot at the show, but the entire thing is a lot expensive, for the moment, for me.
Boot price at the show is not the main problem, consider that in Italy is fairly more.
Sorry for the lost of another good opportunity to meet with nice folks as you Muskie1er.
But I hope will be only a matter of time.
